If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below. WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must be protected by a 15 Amp fuse. If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be re-fitted when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS 1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug. If your appliance is not fitted with a plug, please follow the instructions provided below: B) WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED IMPORTANT The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: E Green and yellow: Earth L Blue: Neutral N Brown: Live As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug marked with the letter E or the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red. BBH INT 5-03-2002 14:29 Pagina 4 1. GENERALITA' Togliere l'apparecchio dalla scatola imballo, rimuovere gli eventuali residui che possono essere rimasti incastrati dentro l'apparecchio. Controllare che l'apparecchio non abbia subito danni durante il trasporto e l'integrità del cavo di alimentazione. 2. MONTAGGIO DEI PIEDINI Rimuovere i piedini e le viti di fissaggio dall'imballo. Ribaltare l'apparecchio su una superficie morbida per evitare di rovinare la vernice dell'apparecchio. Inserire i piedini come illustrato in fig. 1, assicurandosi che siano inseriti completamente: i piedini A sul fondo devono essere accoppiati al piedino. Infine, fissare il piedino usando le due viti. 3. INSTALLAZIONE DELL'APPARECCHIO Installare l'apparecchio sul pavimento nei pressi della finestra più fredda nella stanza, o nella posizione che desiderate. Gli apparecchi non devono essere installati immediatamente sotto ad una presa di corrente fissa. Posizionare l'apparecchio in modo che la presa e la spina risultino facilmente accessibili anche dopo l'installazione. 4. ALLACCIAMENTO ELETTRICO - Prima di inserire la spina nella presa di corrente verificare attentamente che il voltaggio della Vostra rete domestica corrisponda al valore in V indicato sull'apparecchio e che la presa di corrente e la linea di alimentazione siano dimensionate al carico dell'apparecchio. - QUESTO APPARECCHIO É CONFORME ALLA DIRETTIVA 89/336/CEE ED AL D.M. 476/92 SULLA COMPATIBILITÁ ELETTROMAGNETICA. 5. ACCENSIONE (fig. 2) · Inserire la spina nella presa e accendere l'apparecchio. · Girare il termostato in senso orario fino alla posizione massima. · Riscaldamento a potenza massima: premere entrambe i pulsanti a pedale (min + med). Le spie si accendono. · Riscaldamento a potenza media: premere solo il pulsante a pedale "med". La spia "med" si accende. · Riscaldamento a potenza minima: premere solo il pulsante a pedale "min". La spia "min" si accende. 6. REGOLAZIONE TERMOSTATO Quando l'ambiente avrà raggiunto la temperatura desiderata, spostare lentamente il termostato fino allo spegnimento della spia luminosa e non oltre. La temperatura così fissata verrà automaticamente regolata e mantenuta costante dal termostato. 7. FUNZIONE ANTIGELO Premere uno dei due pulsanti a pedale e impostare il termostato sulla posizione " ". Così impostato, l'apparecchio si accende ogni volta che la temperatura ambiente scende sotto i 5°C evitando l'eccessivo raffreddamento con un consumo minimo di energia. 8. MANUTENZIONE Prima di qualsiasi pulizia togliere sempre la spina dalla presa di corrente. Il convettore elettrico non richiede una particolare manutenzione. E' sufficiente spolverarlo con un panno soffice ed asciutto; pulirlo solo quando è freddo. Non usare mai polveri abrasive o solventi. Se necessario, utilizzare un aspirapolvere per rimuovere la polvere. 9. AVVERTENZE Attenzione: per evitare pericoli causati da un accidentale ripristino del sistema di sicurezza, questo apparecchio non deve essere alimentato attraverso un timer esterno. · Non usare il termoconvettore nelle immediate vicinanze di vasche da bagno, docce, lavandini, piscine, ecc. Inoltre, l'apparecchio non deve essere posto direttamente sotto una presa di corrente fissa. · Non appoggiare il cavo di alimentazione sull'apparecchio caldo. · Usare il termoconvettore sempre e solamente in posizione verticale. · Non ostruire le griglie d'uscita dell'aria calda, né quella di entrata, che si trova sul fondo dell'apparecchio. · La sostituzione del cavo di alimentazione deve essere fatta solo da personale autorizzato dal costruttore. · Non utilizzare questo apparecchio in stanze, la cui area di base è inferiore a 4 m2. Ed inoltre si sconsiglia di posizionarlo in correnti d'aria che possono perturbare il funzionamento dell'apparecchio. · Per eliminare l'odore di nuovo al primo funzionamento far funzionare l'apparecchio alla massima potenza per almeno due ore. Durante questa operazione, aerare la stanza. · E' del tutto normale che l'apparecchio emetta degli "scricchiolii" durante la fase di riscaldamento e raffreddamento. · L'apparecchio deve essere posizionata almeno a 50 cm da mobili od altri oggetti. · Uno speciale dispositivo interviene a spegnere l'apparecchio in caso di surriscaldamento o di posizionamento dell'apparecchio in luoghi con forti correnti d'aria. Per riattivarlo, rimuovere la spina dalla presa, lasciar raffreddare l'apparecchio (circa 5 minuti) e rimuovere la causa del surriscaldamento; reinserire poi la spina nella presa di corrente e riaccendere l'apparecchio. · Come per qualsiasi apparecchio elettrico, si raccomanda di usare cautela e buonsenso nell'utilizzo dell'apparecchio, in particolare in presenza di bambini. Importante: non coprire in nessun caso l'apparecchio durante il funzionamento, poiché ciò provocherebbe un pericoloso aumento di temperatura dello stesso . I 4 BBH INT 5-03-2002 14:29 Pagina 5 1. GENERAL Take the appliance out of its packaging, and remove any resides that may be struck inside the appliance. Check that the appliance has not been damaged during transport and that the power cable is intact. 2. ASSEMBLING THE FEET Remove the feet and the fastening screws from the packaging. Turn the appliance over onto a soft surface, to avoid damaging the paintwork. Insert the feet as shown in Fig. 1, pushing them in all the way: the teeth A on the base must be coupled to the foot. Finally, fasten the foot using the two screws. 3. INSTALLATION Install the appliance on the floor near the coldest window in the room, or in the desired position. The appliance must not be installed immediately below a permanent mains outlet. Position the appliance so that the plug and the outlet can be easily reached even after installation. 4. ELECTRICAL - Before plugging the appliance into an electrical outlet, carefully check that your home's mains voltage corresponds to the voltage (V) indicated on the appliance, and that the outlet and mains supply line are sufficient to power the appliance. - - THIS APPLIANCE COMPLIES WITH EEC DIRECTIVE 89/336. 5. TURNING ON (Fig. 2) · Plug the appliance into the outlet and switch it on. · Turn the thermostat clockwise to the maximum position. · Heating at maximum power: press both foot switches (min + med). The pilot lights will turn on. · Heating at medium power: press the "med" foot switch only. The "med" light will turn on. · Heating at minimum power: press the "min" foot switch only. The "min" light will turn on. 6. ADJUSTING THE THERMOSTAT When the room reaches the desired temperature, slowly move the thermostat until the light goes off, and no further. The thermostat will automatically maintain the set temperature. 7. ANTIFREEZE FUNCTION Press one of the two foot switches and set the thermostat to the " " position. When set in this way, the appliance will switch on whenever the room temperature falls below 5°C, avoiding excessive cooling down with minimum energy consumption. 8. MAINTENANCE Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before beginning any cleaning operations. The electric convector does not require special maintenance. Simply dust it off with a soft, dry cloth; only clean when cold. Never use abrasive powders or solvents. If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust. 9. WARNINGS ATTENTION: in order to avoid any danger caused by an accidental resetting of the safety system, this appliance must not be powered through an external timer. · Do not make use of this heating convector in the immediate proximity of bathtubs, showers, washbasins, pools, etc. In addition, this appliance must never be placed directly under a permanent electrical outlet. · Do not rest the power cable on the appliance when it is hot. · Use this heating convector only and always in an upright position. · Do not block the hot-air outlet grilles or the intake grille located on the bottom of the appliance. · The power cable must only be replaced by personnel authorised by the manufacturer. · Never use this appliance in a room whose base area is less than 4 m2. We likewise recommend that you not place this equipment in a draught, because blasts of air may adversely affect the equipment's operational efficiency. · To eliminate the new smell the first time the appliance is used, operate it maximum power for at least two hours. Ventilate the room during this operation. · It is completely normal for the appliance to make "creaking" sounds when heating up and cooling down. · No furniture or other objects must be placed within 50cm of the appliance. · A special device switches the appliance off in the event of overheating or the presence of strong draughts. To restart the appliance, unplug it, allow it to cool down (around 5 minutes) and remove the cause of the overheating; then plug the appliance back in and switch it on. · As for any electrical appliance, caution and common sense must be applied when using the appliance, especially when children are present. Important: never cover this appliance in any manner whatsoever while it is operating. To do so would cause a dangerous increase in the temperature of the appliance itself. 5 BBH INT 5-03-2002 14:29 Pagina 6 1. GENERALITES Déballer l'appareil et enlever les éventuels résidus qui seraient restés à l'intérieur. S'assurer que l'appareil n'a pas subi de dégâts pendant le transport et vérifier l'intégrité du cordon d'alimentation. F 2. MONTAGE DES PIEDS Déballer les pieds et les vis de fixation. Renverser l'appareil sur une surface lisse pour ne pas abîmer la peinture. Introduire les pieds comme l'indique la fig. 1, en les poussant bien jusqu'au bout. Les pieds A sur le fond doivent s'accoupler avec le pied. Pour terminer, fixer celui-ci avec les deux vis. 3. INSTALLATION DE L'APPAREIL Installer l'appareil au sol, près de la fenêtre la plus froide de la pièce ou à l'endroit choisi. Eviter de placer les appareils juste au-dessous d'une prise de courant fixe Positionner l'appareil de sorte que la prise et la fiche restent faciles d'accès même après l'installation. 4. RANCHEMENT ELECTRIQUE - Avant d'introduire la fiche dans la prise de courant, vérifier attentivement si la tension du secteur correspond bien à celle indiquée en volts sur l'appareil et si la prise de courant ...
